Our Mission and Philosophy
At Spot's Schoolhouse, Salon and Sleepovers, we train, groom, and board puppies and dogs. We provide basic training for canine behavior plus special training for dogs who bark, bite, run away, or otherwise misbehave. This emphasis on good behavior and happiness underpins everything we do for your dog, whether it be grooming, walking, boarding or house visitation.
Spots also boards pets other than dogs and provides conscientious home care if preferred. We are highly trained and qualified with degrees and experience at well-known companies for pet care and products. Our team also has veterinary experience to ensure that your pet is safe and healthy. With a family of lifelong dog lovers, we can't think of a better way to spend our free time caring for your pets! While 2 of our crew spend many days at work, one of us is home full time to give your pup the love, attention, supervision and cuddles they're used to at his or her home. We can happily provide daily outside play time, inside snuggles, exersize, interaction and fun for dogs of all shapes and sizes.

Dog Training
Having earned my trade degree in basic obedience and canine behavior, I've studied many different types of dog training. Positive reinforcement, capturing, and labeling are always my first steps and favorite form of training. Dogs who are very treat or praise oriented are ideal for this type of training, however, I consider all dogs to be trainable with enough time, effort, and consistency. My favorite part of training is the challenge of constantly having to learn new ways to teach and communicate with dogs.
We have no size or breed discrimination and start training at 8 weeks old. Dogs must be up to date on all vaccinations and be in good health. Dogs intact are accepted however if your dog is boarding for training, we suggest scheduling while your female dog is not in heat. We take dogs of all temperament but require a brief introduction for dogs boarding for behavior modification training.

Train & Board Behavior Modification:

*Dogs will spend a minimum of 3 hours and a maximum of 8 hours each day for training.
Pet Boarding
We offer a home-like atmosphere for your pups! Although the dogs do have their own room filled with dog toys, comfy beds, and personal crates, the dogs spend the majority of their day roaming free in the house (unless otherwise requested by pet parent). We also have a large fenced-in yard that your dog will spend supervised time outside playing with one of our family members or other dogs. We can also guarantee at least 1 walk a day, usually to the park just around the corner from our facility.
We have no size or breed restrictions and take any dogs over the age of 8 weeks. Dogs must be up to date on all vaccinations.
Boarding
1-7 Nights: $20/night per dog ($15/night per additional dog from same household)
8-14 Nights: $17/night ($12/night per additional dog from household)
15-21 Nights: $15 ($10/night per additional dog from same household)
Longer: $13/night (up to 31 nights) ($8/night per additional dog from same household)
Feeding
At Spot's Schoolhouse we are happy to provide a high quality grain free dry or canned food. We also have experience in feeding dogs a raw diet on the recommended 80% meat,10% bone,10% organ guideline (vitamins, supplements, dairy, grains and veggies available upon request) and will prepare a diet made specifically for your dog's age, breed, size, and health needs. Medication
Basic daily medication administration is no charge. Advanced medication administration may add an additional daily fee of up to $5.
Grooming
We hope to evolve into a full grooming salon but for the time being, we are offering only the basics. However, for an additonal fee, we will arrange for a certified mobile groomer to provide your pup with a full groom while staying here at Spot's Schoolhouse. Please see the price list below or call for details.

Sizing:

Examples of single coat breeds: Shar-Pei, Boxer, Rat Terrier
Examples of double coat breeds: German Shepherd Dogs, Huskies, Labradors
We accept all breeds however dogs must be 6 weeks or older and current on all vaccinations.
While not being groomed, your dog will be provided with comfortable quarters in a kennel or supervised in the house or doggie-play room. (If your dog doesn't get along with other dogs, that's okay too! Just let us know and we'll make sure they get their own space.)
All dogs will receive potty breaks a minimum of every 3 hours and offered water every hour.
If your dog has any allergies or special diet restrictions, please let us know! We love to give treats!
Drop-in Pet Sitting
We offer drop-in/house sitting services for all small animals! We offer a variety of options from single daily check-ins to 3 visits a day. Check out our pricing for more details on what we offer or contact us today with any questions.
Dogs, cats, fish, birds, reptiles, amphibians, rodents, insects, arthropods, etc! We care for almost all companion animals! If you don't see your pet listed above, contact us to see if we can care for your loved one.
Basic Drop-in package:
$20/day :The basic drop in package includes 2 daily visits to your home to care
up to 10 companion animals excluding dogs. During these visits, we will do
basic wellness checks, feed your animals, fill water bowls, scoop litter boxes,
give light interaction, and administer basic medicine. We will also bring in your
mail and water your plants for no additional fee!
Basic Drop-in plus pups:
$30/day: The basic-plus-pups package includes all the same benefits of the
Basic Drop-in package but we will also take your dogs out for a potty break and
a short walk. Please note that this package provides 2 daily visits; if your
dog(s) require(s) more than 2 visits per day, please choose one of our other
options.
Extra Drop-in plus pups:
$35/day: The Extra-plus-pups package includes all the same benefits of the
Basic Drop-in plus pups package however we will provide 3 visits throughout
the day.
Jr Drop-in package:
$10/day: The Jr Drop-in package is for companion animals that only need 1
visit per day. This visit will include a basic wellness check, feeding, water
refills, basic medicine administration, and light interaction (upon request).
We will also bring in your mail and water your plants for no extra charge! (this
package is not recommended for dogs)
Doggie Day-Visit Package:
$25/day: The Doggie Day-Visit package includes 2 daily visits to care for up to
4 dogs. Dogs will get potty breaks, feed, watered, given a basic wellness check,
receive a short walk, and a minimum of 15 minutes (per household) of
interactive play with each visit. We will bring in your mail and water your plants
however this package does not include care for other companion animals like
felines.

Small Critters Boarding
Headed out of town for the weekend or an extended trip? From frogs to fancy hamsters, we board almost all types of small animals! See our price list for details or contact us today to see if we can care for your loved one.
Small critters schoolhouse can take care of your terrarium housed pet, including snakes, lizards, turtles, and frogs. We are even permitted to take care of your large snakes.
Unfortunately, we cannot board venomous snakes, felines, fish, or any animals that require aquatic tanks. Please see our prices for drop-in visits where we visit your home up to twice a day to check in and care for all your animals and plants!
Animals who require only daily wellness checks:
- $2/per night (this includes hand misting and/or food and water changes)
- $3/per night (this includes habitats with lights, heating pads/rocks, or running filters)
- $4/per night (this includes all of the above plus daily light interaction)
- $5/per night (this includes all of the above plus moderate to high daily interaction)
Feeding:
- $1/per night Canned or Dry Food
- $1/per night Fresh Fruits or Veggies
- $1/per night Live insects

There will be a non-refundable $20-40 deposit for set up/cage rental if a habitat, substrate, and light or heating (if needed) is not provided by owner.
